What is the Mentoring System?
The idea behind the Mentoring System is that Austrian students should support incoming exchange students by lending a helping hand and good advice.
Exchange Student?
Before you come to Linz, we put you and other exchange students in a group with two or three Linz students (your mentors). You will be in touch with these mentors to help answer any questions you may have.
If you like, you can take advantage of our pick-up service so that your arrival is easier.
When you’re finally in Linz, your mentors will help you with student residence registration, inscription, show you the International and REFI offices, take you around campus, and help you with any questions you may have during your stay.
Linz Student?
The Mentoring System is perfect for you if you want to meet students from other countries and experience their cultures. We pair you up with one or two other Linz students (or you can pick your own group), after which you get to pick the home countries of the two to five exchange students that will be part of your group.
Establish contact with your exchange students, pick them up from the Linz airport or train station, take them through the registration process at their student residence, accompany them to the international office, help them with Inskription in der Studienabteilung, show them the REFI office, the cafeteria, and the Unigelände, and simply be there for them by lending a helping hand or advice.
Don’t worry: before the exchange students come in, we’ll be holding an information session where we’ll go through the entire process and you can ask any questions that you have.
